Anarkid Releases New Swimwear Collection Made with Plastic Bottles
While we are starting to feel the autumn chill, our readers on the golden coast and in the sunshine state are still enjoying beach days, and our friends even further south (in the Southern Hemisphere) are just beginning their warmest months!
While we are starting to feel the autumn chill, our readers on the golden coast and in the sunshine state are still enjoying beach days, and our friends even further south (in the Southern Hemisphere) are just beginning their warmest months! With still lots of sunshine to go around, we were excited to hear about a new line of swimwear from Australian children’s wear brand Anarkid!
Anarkid, which has labelled its brand as Fashion Activists, is inspiring social and environmental change through each collection of well-crafted, sustainable clothing for kids aged newborn up to 12 years. Rather than competing with big brands’ low prices, Anarkid focuses on offering an exceptionally high level of craftsmanship, sustainable materials and non-toxic dyes – elements that add the value and meaning customers appreciate. Each item is created with longevity in mind and pieces can be passed down and used over again.
Knowing that it is impossible for any label to be 100% sustainable from the start, the company – which was founded 8 years ago – has adopted the motto “one step at a time.” Each season, they strive to do better and improve their process, products and packaging.
In this new collection, Anarkid takes another step toward sustainability with their swimwear line. Once plastic is created, it lasts forever. While this is great for durability, it poses a huge environmental strain on our planet. We were so excited to learn that Anarkid’s UPF50+ swimwear collection is made from recycled plastic bottles, giving a second life to recycled plastic bottles that would otherwise end up in landfills or our oceans!
